Hotel Near BHU Hospital & Trauma Centre, Varanasi

Hotel Vinayak Plaza is outside the BHU campus, about 2.2 km by road from the OPD complex of Sir Sunderlal Hospital (BHU Hospital), by a Google Maps reading on 5 October 2026. The BHU Trauma Centre and the Mahamana Cancer Centre (MPMMCC) have their own readings, listed below. This page is for families and attendants: getting to the hospital early in the morning or late at night, longer stays, and what to ask us before you book. For OPD days, registration and anything medical, please rely on the hospital’s own official information; our Varanasi hospital guides list the hospitals we cover.

How far BHU Hospital, the Trauma Centre and MPMMCC are from the hotel

These are Google Maps readings taken from the hotel on 5 October 2026, on the fastest route at the time of reading. Traffic changes drive times, so treat them as a guide, not a promise.

The on-foot figures are Google Maps estimates only. Nobody from the hotel has checked these routes on foot, by day or after dark, so with a patient, or at night, please take an auto or a car.

Sir Sunderlal Hospital (BHU Hospital)

The Varanasi district administration lists it as “Sir Sunderlal Hospital, BHU”; many people simply call it BHU Hospital. From the hotel:

  • By road: about 2.2 km, about 8 minutes
  • On foot (Google Maps estimate, not checked on site): about 1.5 km, about 21 minutes
  • Google Maps measured this to the point it labels ‘OPD Complex Sir Sunderlal Hospital’. The route to the emergency entrance has not been measured yet, so check which entrance your visit needs.

BHU Trauma Centre

Google Maps places the Trauma Centre at a different point from the OPD complex, so it has its own reading. From the hotel:

  • By road: about 1.6 km, about 7 minutes
  • On foot (Google Maps estimate, not checked on site): about 1.5 km, about 21 minutes
  • Google Maps measured this to the point it labels ‘BHU Trauma Centre’.

Mahamana Cancer Centre (MPMMCC)

The hospital’s official website gives its full name as Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre and its address as on the BHU campus. From the hotel:

  • By road: about 1.7 km, about 6 minutes
  • On foot (Google Maps estimate, not checked on site): about 1.6 km, about 23 minutes
  • For appointments and visiting, see the Mahamana Cancer Centre visitor guide.

MPMMCC and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital are not the same place

The official MPMMCC website says MPMMCC and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Varanasi are both units of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. They are separate hospitals at different locations, and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital is not near this hotel. Check which hospital is named on your appointment papers before you book, and see the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital visitor guide if your visit is there.

Getting to the hospitals early in the morning or late at night

Reception at the hotel is staffed 24×7 and books autos and cabs for guests. We have not checked how easily an auto or cab can be found very early or late at night, so if you need to leave at those hours, tell the desk the evening before.

Early starts on OPD days

Check the OPD day and registration time in the hospital’s own information first; this page does not give them. Then allow for the ride: the readings above are fastest-route times taken on one day, and traffic changes them. We have not checked gate timings or vehicle rules on the BHU campus for the hospital entrances, so confirm them with the hospital before you plan to drive in.

Late-night trips during an admission

Because reception is staffed 24×7, attendants coming back from the hospital late at night can get back in. The kitchen serves vegetarian food only, made to order at any hour, and room service is available 24 hours; see the hotel’s restaurant. The hotel is not a medical service and cannot advise on which hospital or department to go to; in an emergency, contact the hospital or the emergency services directly (the official emergency numbers are listed on our Varanasi hospital guides page).

Practical notes for patients’ families

If you are looking for a hotel near BHU Hospital for more than a night or two, these notes cover what matters for an attendant’s stay.

Long stays and changing discharge dates

Discharge dates can move, and family members may take turns at the hospital. Before you book, ask us on WhatsApp whether your stay can be extended at short notice and whether several attendants can be on one booking; we will answer for your dates rather than promise it here.

  • Luggage can be left with us before check-in and after check-out, for example on the day of a discharge.
  • Arriving on a night train? Ask on WhatsApp whether early check-in is possible for your date.
  • If a medicine must be kept cold, ask on WhatsApp before booking; this page makes no storage promise.
  • See check-in times and ID rules, and for how many guests each room takes, see the rooms.

Arriving with a patient who cannot manage stairs

The main entrance has three steps and no ramp, but there is a ramp at the hotel’s other gate, a lift serves all five floors and a wheelchair fits in it; see the hotel’s facilities page.

Who a stay here suits

A stay here suits families whose visit is at Sir Sunderlal Hospital, the Trauma Centre or MPMMCC. Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital is not near the hotel, so families going there may prefer to stay closer to it. Kashi Vishwanath and the old-city ghats are a ride away. For a non-medical BHU trip, see hotel near BHU for admissions or events.

Questions for the hospital, not the hotel

We are a hotel, not a hospital. We cannot tell you OPD days or times, fees, how registration works or which doctor to see, and we do not give medical advice. For those, rely on the hospital’s own official information; our Varanasi hospital guides list the hospitals we cover, and the Mahamana Cancer Centre visitor guide or the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital visitor guide cover those two hospitals.

Questions from patients’ families

How far is BHU Hospital (Sir Sunderlal Hospital) from Hotel Vinayak Plaza?

About 2.2 km by road, around 8 minutes, by a Google Maps reading on 5 October 2026, measured to the point Google labels ‘OPD Complex Sir Sunderlal Hospital’. Google’s on-foot estimate is about 1.5 km, around 21 minutes, but we have not checked that route on foot. The route to the emergency entrance has not been measured yet.

Is there a hotel room near the Sir Sunderlal Hospital OPD for an early registration?

Hotel Vinayak Plaza is about 2.2 km by road from the OPD complex (Google Maps, 5 October 2026), and reception, staffed 24×7, books autos and cabs for guests; if you need to leave very early, tell the desk the evening before, as we have not checked how easily autos and cabs can be found at dawn. For OPD days, timings and registration, please rely on the hospital’s own official information; we do not publish them here, and our Varanasi hospital guides list the hospitals we cover.

How close is the hotel to the BHU Trauma Centre, and can we get there at night?

About 1.6 km by road, around 7 minutes (Google Maps, 5 October 2026). Reception is staffed 24×7, so attendants returning late at night can get back in, and the desk books autos and cabs for guests; we have not checked how easily they can be found late at night, so tell the desk in advance. We have not checked BHU’s campus gate rules at night, so confirm them with the hospital. The hotel cannot give medical advice; in an emergency, contact the hospital or the emergency services directly (the official emergency numbers are listed on our Varanasi hospital guides page).

Are there hotels near the BHU Trauma Centre for attendants staying several days?

We can only speak for Hotel Vinayak Plaza; the Trauma Centre reading is at the top of this page. Whether a stay can be extended at short notice, or several attendants can be on one booking, depends on your dates, so please send them on WhatsApp before you book. Check-in times and ID rules are on our booking and policies page.

How far is Mahamana Cancer Centre (MPMMCC) from the hotel?

About 1.7 km by road, around 6 minutes, by a Google Maps reading on 5 October 2026; Google’s on-foot estimate is about 1.6 km, around 23 minutes, a route we have not checked on foot. The hospital’s official website gives its address as on the BHU campus. For appointments and visiting, see the Mahamana Cancer Centre visitor guide.

Is the hotel near Mahamana Cancer Hospital, or should Homi Bhabha patients stay elsewhere?

MPMMCC, which many people search for as Mahamana Cancer Hospital, is a short ride from the hotel; the reading is at the top of this page. The official MPMMCC website says MPMMCC and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Varanasi are both units of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai; they are separate hospitals at different locations, so check which one is named on your appointment papers (see the Mahamana Cancer Centre visitor guide and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital visitor guide). Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital is not near this hotel, so families going there may prefer to stay closer to it.

What should families check before booking a hotel near BHU Hospital?

Check the distance to the hospital your visit is at, not just to BHU; how you will get there early in the morning and late at night; whether the stay can be extended and several attendants included (ask us on WhatsApp); and step-free access if the patient cannot manage stairs. Then read check-in times and ID rules and see the rooms for how many guests a room takes.
