Which gate and building you need
BHU says its main campus spans about 1,370 acres, so the building you are going to matters as much as the distance to the gate. Before you travel, check which faculty, department, office or hostel your appointment is at, ask your department which gate to use, and allow extra time for the ride inside the campus.
Check the venue before you book
BHU’s 2026 undergraduate reporting notice lists a reporting venue for each programme, and for B.Voc it gave “Admin Building, RGSC, Barkachha, Mirzapur”. Check the venue on your own letter or notice before you book.

Document verification and reporting after admission
BHU’s admission FAQ says counselling is fully online, but every admitted candidate must report in person for physical document verification when notified. For 2026 undergraduate admissions, BHU’s notice set reporting hours of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the venue the notice lists for each programme. Reporting starts before our check-in time, so for a morning slot plan to arrive the evening before; if you come in on an early train, you can leave your luggage with us before check-in, and early check-in depends on availability.
- BHU also says admission to a course does not guarantee a hostel room: allotment depends on availability and merit. Keep your dates flexible while that is settled.

Exams, interviews and conferences on campus
Plan to arrive the day before, and check the venue (faculty or department) on your call letter or invitation so you can allow time for the ride inside the campus. Reception is staffed 24×7, so a late-night arrival checks in as usual, and reception can book an auto or cab for the morning.

When you have a free hour on or near the campus
On the campus, the New Vishwanath Temple, which the district website describes as a modern place of worship in the premises of Banaras Hindu University, and the Bharat Kala Bhavan museum of art, history and archaeology are both a short ride from the hotel (distances at the top of this page). Closer to the hotel, Sankat Mochan Temple is about 270 m away by road, and Assi Ghat is about 1.6 km on foot, roughly 23 minutes; the free morning programme there is in our Subah-e-Banaras guide. Visiting Sant Ravidas Janmasthan from the hotel
